A little behind...

I am only now in my first week at High Point Regional Hospital, so I am a little behind you guys. I must say, it's been quite exciting reading everyone's posts and learning about what is to come! High Point is quite small, so I see a variety of conditions everyday. I am already charting and talking to patients on my own, which is exhilarating in its own right. I observed 2 modified barium swallows today, which were pretty cool. More than anything, and sadly, I've seen a great deal of mistreated elderly patients (many of which come from nursing homes!). This is something we heard a lot about in Elderly, but it did not become real to me until this week.

That's about it for me, given it's been 2 days. Well, that and it is quite unsettling how much one can forget in a span of a few weeks...let's just say, I've got some reviewing to do...
