Hi Everyone,
Not much new to report this week. Pretty standard week of diabetes education, TPN, etc. Although we did get a guy in here with something called Goodpasture's Syndrome. It's an autoimmune disease where the antibodies attack the lung and kidneys. Possible causes include: exposure to chemicals, weed killer, viral infections, and genetic component. They also say patients with the syndrome should not sniff glue or gas ( funny i didn't think it was appropriate for anyone to do that). He is now in the hospital for ESRD and he is only 40. Apparently he got diagnosed with this when he was 15.
The hospital seems to be emptying out for holiday weekend so things have been really slow with the exception of psych which has been hopping this week.
Have a happy 4th!
